We focus particularly on bringing the encounter with truth to young people in their formative years through fun and engaging workshops.  The experience of theatre allows them to grow in confidence and humility and to develop true self-awareness and other-centeredness.  These skills will enrich every facet of their lives.

Theatre of the Saints Workshop

A nine-part workshop that entwines exploration of the lives of the saints with drama, Theatre of the Saints encourages both personal growth and an appreciation for the ancient art of theatre.  Participants will learn about stage presence, verbal and physical communication, focus, and collaboration, among other dramatic skills.  Each will have the opportunity to play the role of a saint, as well as several small supporting roles, in a series of dramatic sketches from the lives of the saints.  The workshop concludes with an opportunity for the actors to share their original performance with an audience.

For 12 participants.  Suitable for ages 9 and up.

Theatre of the Saints II Workshop

Delving deeper into the heroic stories of the saints, this workshop focuses on building dramatic action through improvisation and characterization.  Participants will again create an original performance of sketches from the lives of the saints, but with an added focus on fleshing out the characters and finding the dramatic action.

For 12 participants.  Suitable for ages 9 and up.

Youth of Today Workshop

For those who have completed both Theatre of the Saints workshops, this program offers older youth the opportunity to create original dramatic stories that tackle important issues.  Participants will learn more about dramatic action and characterization as they develop a series of short pieces with modern characters and examine the driving forces behind character change.

For 12 participants.  Suitable for ages 13 and up.
